This week on Kansas City Confidential, Sari talks to Ferrell Richardson from The Cottage Rose. What started as a humble mother-daughter duo has blossomed into a full creative team.
Offering unique floral arrangements for weddings, events or for personal use, The Cottage Rose works with their customers to create their dreams and turn them into reality. 
Ferrell and her mom Marydee both have a design background and use their knowledge to put together works of art, using flowers as their medium.

Veloute KC

This week on Kansas City Confidential, Sari's guest is Brianna Larcher, co-owner of Veloute, alongside her husband Pascal. Veloute is a Parisian street food vendor and catering business. With season beignets that use local ingredients and are made fresh right before your eyes, it’s no wonder they sell out wherever they pop up. 
Brianna and Pascal are forever thankful to their loyal customers who come to see them at the Downtown Overland Park Farmer's Market every Saturday. You can't miss their booth as there is always a long line of hungry folks waiting to get their hands on the latest beignet and pom frites.

SOAP Refill Station

On this week of Kansas City Confidential, Sari is joined by Anne Desort, owner SOAP Refill Station, a bulk home and body care shop where customers can bring their own containers from home to refill safe cleaning products over and over -  instead of buying a new single use container each purchase. Their mission is simple, to reduce single use waste. In 4 years, between their two locations in Springfield and Kansas City Missouri they have kept over 100,000 containers out of the trash, recycling centers, and waterways. Anne loves small business and the community that a good one fosters SOAP loves being a part of their customer's routines and helping to support them through their own eco-journey.
Alongside her partner Adam, they started our own soap and detergent manufacturing company named HOUSEbrand (housebrandclean.com) to help them keep shelves stocked with responsible soaps and detergents. This way they are able to keep product prices as low as possible to encourage the refill model for everyone as not only the best choice for your planet but also for your pocket book.

Hoopla Studios

This week on Kansas City Confidential, Sari is joined by Megan and Molly, owners of Hoopla Studio, a nail and service bar prioritizing hygiene and fun. Their services range from manicures and pedicures to facials and spray tans. Their nail polish is unique, too - they use their own brand! Megan and Molly discuss why it was important to use polish made in the United States, and free of toxins. Bruu Cafe

On this week's episode of Kansas City Confidential, Sari talks to Bay and Chatchai, owners of Bruu Cafe, located on the Country Club Plaza. Both Bay and Chatchai are originally from Thailand and moved to the U.S. to further their education. While life adjusting to their new home was difficult, they have grown to love Kansas City and raising their family here. Bay talks about her love for boba tea and the success the cafe has seen, despite running into delays opening due to COVID. Chatchai discusses the process of making boba bubbles and why Bruu is different than other boba tea cafes in KC.

The Golden Scoop

On this week's episode of Kansas City Confidential, Sari is joined by Lindsay, Amber, and Ian from The Golden Scoop, a local ice cream and coffee shop specializing in providing meaningful employment for uniquely abled individuals. The Golden Scoop concept has been in the making since 2018. Modeled after two successful companies centered on employing people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Lindsay and Amber married the two ideas! 
Ian is one of the many amazing Super Scoopers at The Golden Scoop and talks about his experience and some of the difficulties of working with cerebral palsy. 
The Golden Scoop makes numerous accommodations for their employees to ensure they have as much success as possible in their roles. From pre-scooping their ice cream to having a large text and brail menu available, they make sure that everyone in their shop, customer or employee, has their needs met.

The Antler Room

Kansas City Confidential is back this week after taking a little vacation. On this week's episode, Sari talks to Leslie Newsam, owner of The Antler Room. This stylish and intimate restaurant changes their menus frequently, offering seasonal rotating dishes that are sure to make your tastebuds jump. Leslie talks about the variety of dishes that are served and the small-plate style setup to encourage guests to try as many dishes as possible.
Leslie and her husband Nick both have culinary and restaurant backgrounds and after a trip abroad, they decided to move forward with their idea and open a restaurant back in their hometown. Leslie also discusses the recent rebrand the restaurant underwent.
