Both Bay and Chatchai are originally from Thailand and moved to the U.S. to further their education. While life adjusting to their new home was difficult, they have grown to love Kansas City and raising their family here. Bay talks about her love for boba tea and the success the cafe has seen, despite running into delays opening due to COVID. Chatchai discusses the process of making boba bubbles and why Bruu is different than other boba tea cafes in KC.

The Golden Scoop concept has been in the making since 2018. Modeled after two successful companies centered on employing people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Lindsay and Amber married the two ideas!
Ian is one of the many amazing Super Scoopers at The Golden Scoop and talks about his experience and some of the difficulties of working with cerebral palsy.
The Golden Scoop makes numerous accommodations for their employees to ensure they have as much success as possible in their roles. Leslie and her husband Nick both have culinary and restaurant backgrounds and after a trip abroad, they decided to move forward with their idea and open a restaurant back in their hometown. Leslie also discusses the recent rebrand the restaurant underwent.
